1677 Berlin UFO Sighting: Eyewitnesses Report Mysterious Fiery Orbs and Unexplained Lights in the Night Sky Over Germany

At the beginning of July 1677, hundreds of people witnessed a miracle in the sky over Berlin as the sun was setting.

Specifically, several dozen balls flew through the air—some resembling those fired from small guns, others like those shot from large cannons and muskets.

They traveled from the west to the north, directly over the Dohmhoff (now demolished), then turned back toward the Mill Gate (one of the city gates), and finally headed eastward. This phenomenon lasted for more than an hour.

Afterward, many of these balls fell to the ground far off on the horizon, appearing like drops of blood as they descended. Others—some large, some small—remained suspended in the sky, visible for some time until eventually, all of them vanished with the coming of morning.

Our Evaluation of the Alleged UFO Sighting

The 1677 Berlin sighting is one of those rare alleged UFO sightings that looks exactly like the modern unidentified orb phenomena witnessed all around the world.  

Imagine it: as the sun dipped low, casting golden light across the city, hundreds of people looked up to see the sky come alive with thousands of glowing orbs—some darting like musket balls, others slow and deliberate, hanging in the air like lamps. 

These were not distant stars; they moved with purpose, shifting direction, changing speed, and even appearing to fall like drops of blood beyond the horizon — all before Starlink satellites could be blamed as the culprits.

 For over an hour, the sky itself seemed to be performing a spectacle beyond comprehension. And then—nothing. Silence. Disappearance.

Was it natural? Unnatural? Something else entirely? even today, we find echoes of this event in modern UFO encounters: the strange trajectories, the glowing orbs moving across the night sky in various patterns, and then disappearing as quickly as they appeared. Whether seen through a spiritual lens or an extraterrestrial one, this account phenomenon remains a powerful reminder that something mysterious is happening in the sky.
